Samsung Galaxy S2 set for Mobile World Congress launch

Successor to the hugely successful Samsung Galaxy S handset, the cleverly named Samsung Galaxy S2, is to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month, new reports suggest.

Having been tipped for an MWC arrival by Korean newspaper Chosunilbo shortly before the New Year, latest reports have suggested the imminent Galaxy S2 arrival is likely with mock-up images of the handset appearing on the web.

Tipped as a Samsung-branded version of the recently released Android 2.3, Gingerbread introducing Google Nexus S, rumoured specs see the Galaxy S follow-up sporting a tasty 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, in-built NFC chip and the latest 2.3 rendition of Google’s mobile-centric operating system.

Following on from the company’s declaration of intent at the Consumer Electronics Show recently, it is believed the Galaxy S2 will be the first Samsung handset to sport a dual-core processor, beefing up the handsets capabilities and challenging the fleet of dual-core devices unveiled at CES.

Mobile World Congress is set to descend on Barcelona between February 14th and 17th with the biggest players in the portable blower world all tipped to showcase new and groundbreaking releases.
