Samsung Galaxy S 2 dual-core official: MWC 2011 launch?

Following a leaked conference timetable that showed an MWC 2011 arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S 2, Samsung has confirmed the imminent arrival of the Galaxy S sequel with the device to host a dual-core processor.

 

Outlined in a press release to investors Samsung has today declared: “Samsung announced it will introduce the successor to its Galaxy S smartphone during the first half of 2011,” suggesting the leaked Mobile World Congress timeline could be the real deal.

 


Offering up further details on the mooted Galaxy S 2, Samsung proceeded to add the device will launch: “featuring a dual-core processor and Super AMOLED Plus display to further enrich user experience.”

 

With these specs expected to be enhanced by Google’s Android 2.3, Gingerbread, mobile operating system the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S 2 is likely to launch with the usual host of Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth connectivity options, alongside front and rear facing cameras.

 

Leaked alongside the Galaxy S 2 on the outed MWC set list, Samsung has also offered up some tantalising new information on the expected Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. In the same investor report the company wrote: “In the tablet market, Samsung will complement its Galaxy Tab with a range of devices to optimally meet various user needs.”
