With the iPad 2 still just an eagerly expected pipedream rumours have already kicked into action around the third-generation Apple tablet with the mooted iPad 3 reportedly heading for a September 2011 launch.
As speculation grows around exactly when Apple will formerly unveil the iPad 2, industry blogger John Gruber of Daring Daring Fireball has suggested that the iPad 3 will launch just six months after its yet unconfirmed predecessor with a September arrival on the wildly speculative cards.
Discussing yesterday’s announcement of the HP TouchPad, Gruber seeming let slip arrival details of the iPad 3 stating: "If my theory is right, they're not only going to be months behind the iPad 2, but if they slip until late summer, they might bump up against the release of the iPad 3."
Whilst this claim is purely speculative it poses serious questions about the frequency with which Apple will re-jig its tablet device.
The iPad 2 is expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks ahead of an April launch that will see the dominant tablet adopt front and rear-facing cameras, a slimmer form factor and more processing power than the original model.
Will we really see two new iPad models in 2011? Let us know what you think via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
